Bet your knowledge and answer Start the quizCorrect answer
Apples
Explanation
Calvados is an apple brandy from the Calvados department in Normandy. The product is made by distilling the region's well-known fermented apple juice (cider). Afterwards, the distillate is treated in the same way cognac is treated. Furthermore, both excellent cider and distilled cider are also produced in Brittany. Here, the corresponding product is called Gwechall (Breton for "ancient"). Apple brandy from other regions is called Eau-de-vie de Pomme, Apple Brandy, Applejack, or Aquardiente di Sidre.
